The Search For Weight Loss

Is it that time again? Here we are in 2009 and many people are starting the year out with New Years Resolutions. One of the most popular resolutions is "I am going to lose weight"! I have made this resolution many times myself. Even Oprah is starting her 2009 out with a new plan and strategy. It just goes to show that weight loss is an on going battle for some of us.

I have gone through this battle myself and continue to struggle each year. And each year I have success, but, like Oprah, I seem to gain it back. My search for the right diets and exercise have educated me better in knowing what I need to do, it is just getting myself to do it AND stick with it.

I own several books to help me loose weight, the ability to have a book handy has helped me to stop and make good decisions. The books have a good plan, exercise is always encouraged, and the good foods and bad foods list is very helpful for easy reference.

I have joined different weight loss programs I have counted points and not counted points, ate special meals, and yes lost weight while doing them.

I have tried many a diet supplements, ones to boost my metabolism, curb my appetite, burn my fat! These do work, but not alone.

There is really not one book or one program or even one pill that will cure our weightloss. It is totally up to ourselves in how we approach it. You must go in with a positive attitude, be ready (if you are not you will fail), and get the encouragement that we all need, either from your spouse, family or co/workers. It seems to help me in knowing that "someone" is watching! Most of all, do your research, find what works best for you, whether it be a book, a program or a supplement.

My conclusion to my search for weight loss is simple. It is what you hear the Doctors and Dieticians say everyday. Eat healthy and exercise. It really is that simple. Although for a lot of us out here who are constantly trying to find that simple diet or magic pill ,we just need to find the "right" kind of program that works for us. Whether it be a book to help guide us, a group to give us encouragement or a pill to give us that extra boost of power.
